FutureSex/LoveSounds is the second solo studio album by American pop singer Justin Timberlake, released on September 12, 2006 through record labels Jive and Zomba. The album mustered worldwide sales in excess of 9 million, over four million of which have been sold in the United States alone. Critics had divided reactions to the album. The album was not produced until late 2005. Timberlake, who felt burnt out after the success of Justified, found inspiration in making music again and turned to his former collaborator, record producer Timbaland. Timberlake also worked with Timbaland-protégé Danja, alongside record producers Rick Rubin and will.i.am. The album blends pop, R&B, and dance genres, while incorporating sexual innuendos with themes of love, as the title suggests.
