Comedy loves a scapegoat. Lucky for us, the internet has plenty. From blunder to parody to sheer mockery, the internet has been inundated with blogs intended to make you LOL, BWL (“burst with laughter”), ROFL (“Roll On Floor Laughingâ€) or LMFAO (“Laugh your F-ing a__ offâ€). They even have inspired a brand-new chat-brat word: LULZ (i.e. meant to be a badly spelled plural for LOL, Lulz means a pleasurable diversion or amusement on the internet.)
Here’s a handful of Lulz blogs that we’ve looked at and laughed at more than we’d like to admit.
Texts From Last Night
TFLN originated as a Twitter stream where anyone can submit an anonymous (and usually inebriated) text from the night before. Now the website, which has evolved into a blackmail-worthy virtual archive of last night’s mistaken liquid courage, is a procrastinator’s dream. (Psst In case you are too hung-over to discern, the numbers below each entry are Area Codes.)
FAIL Blog and its sister sites by I Can Has Cheez Burger feature “epic fails†that run the topical gamut from unintended English language double entendres to Lol dogs. Fail Blog is lulz humor at it’s finest—turning cultural and personal F___-ups into comedic heroism.
This is Why You’re Fat
Ever in need of thinspiration? This is Why You’re Fat might just save you from your next regrettable late night Philly cheesesteak.
Goths in Hot Weather
You’ve probably sneered at Look At This Fucking Hipster and the doppelganger it spawned, Look at this Douchebag. While other hilarious spinoffs are sure to appear as the summer unfolds, our current favorite? Goths in Hot Weather. We give it a 10 for Sweatiness.
Did your mama let your senile grandmother dress you in the 80s in an overabundant amount of day-glo? Did you used to have matching family mullets? If so, you may be on this site. We hope not. One thing is for sure; don’t book any of these photographers for next year’s holiday card.
You got your own personal faves?
