If you simply wore jeans and a t-shirt to the Electric Daisy Carnival on Friday and Saturday, June 25th and 26th, 2010, you were the odd wo/man out. Majority of the 185,000 attendees over the two days were an eccentric bunch of furry booted, tutu-shirted, Hello Kitty-backpack toting ravers who showed off their gear like a yuppie would his brand-new porsche. One would assume many had spent hours, if not weeks, culling together their fantasy costumes - from powerpuff girls, angels of death, pirates, Harujuku girls and robots. Whether you love or love to hate the glow-stick/pacifier/Elmo t-shirt/raver styles, you can't argue - these kids definitely had a 'glow' of their own!! (put it this way, it's the only place we'd dare recommend to Lady Gaga for inspiration!) One can argue that bold, brash, neon-flavored fashion was as elemental to EDC as the electronica and various carnival rides.
Take a peek at our insider's look at EDC's ravers' paraphernalia:

One constant style leitmotiv amongst the crowd: Plastic neon beaded bracelets and necklaces, called Kandi (cause they all look like candy.) Beads have been around since the early days of 80s rave culture....most kids make them from home and often give them away as gifts to remember past raves and honor new friends. (A lot of the bracelets have names on it we are told in case the kids get soooooo out of it from dancing and drugs they can't feel their face, or remember their name. We hope that's a joke.)

The girls bathroom scene was particularly kooky.....check out those Tutus! With over 180K guests in attendance over two days, you would think that the restrooms would quickly become trashy and disgusting, but remarkably, they were pleasant. Kudos to the party organizers who had planned it all. Early on Saturday, an event staff lady told us that she and her colleagues had stayed up until 6 AM to clean up the venue.

Awesome wig:

Powerpuff girls:

Wait... is this Harajuku?

And then, the nightlife MADNESS began!!!
