Alex Rodriguez Hits 600th Home Run

Alex Rodriguez circles the bases after swatting his 600th career home run. He is the youngest man ever to reach that milestone.
On August 4th, 2007, Alex Rodriguez joined the 500 home run club. Now, three years later to the day, Rodriguez joins the exclusive 600 home run club, by clubbing a 2-run shot in the first inning against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. #500 snuck in just on the right side of the foul pole in left field, the entire ballpark waiting with baited breath, to see if the ball might land fair. #600 was a no-doubter off the bat, a signature Alex Rodriguez towering drive, landing in right center field above Monument Park, where plaques of former Yankee greats remind one and all of the great legacy that resides on 161st St. in the Bronx.

It took 46 at-bats between 599 and 600. Still, at 35 years, 8 days, Rodriguez became the youngest player in history to join the 600 Club, and the seventh player in baseball history to reach the milestone. He is the seventh player to do so.
"I just wanted to get a base hit," Rodriguez said. Likely story, we say.
