How many times have you turned your camera on yourself to take a photo? Especially when in need of a fresh + new FB profile pic...or just for the fun of it?
Creative self-portraiture is no easy feat. It requires a good eye, time, patience and a pre-planned vision. That said, San Francisco-based photographer David Luraschi has crafted a series of mysterious self-portraits that play tricks on the eyes...especially the "ghosting" effect seen in some of the photos. Also, did you spot the curious reflection in the mirror?

David also turns the lens away from himself and photographs a medley of characters + interesting landscapes. His playground? The sun, fog + fauna of California. David successfully conveys both a quiet and contemplative mood in his photography - and he is particularly skilled at sequencing on his website - where the color and contrast fit together like a puzzle.
