Celebrating Yuri's Night 2010 with Common

Since our generation's interest in outer space is noticably less pronounced than our parents' and our grand-parents', many of you may not even know of Yuri Gagarin, a Soviet cosmonaut and the first human to make it to outer space, or of the ritual of Yuri's Night," the largest annual celebration of space expoloration worldwide to honor night that Yuri first made it to space and orbited planet earth (April 12th, 1961).
However, never one to miss a party, JT.com checked out this year's "Yuri's Night" festivities in the NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA, on April 12th. The day was surreal: surrounded by spaceships and people dressed as aliens, we watched N.E.R.D., Common and the Black Keys rev the crowd up. Meanwhile, the organizers had a hanger full of space-related effects, we were able to climb into a (fake) space ship, and watched people shake their tail feathers until they too looked like they were from Mars.
Moral of the story? Next April 12th, check out Yuri's Night" festivities in the NASA, or the Yuri party near you. It's definitely worth the mind trip. The proof is below:
