Exclusive Photos: HARD NYC with MIA and Friends

NYC's edition of HARD fest landed on one of the hottest days NYC will see this summer, but that didn't stop kids from raging early into Sunday morning on Governors Island. M.I.A., Die Antwoord, Sleigh Bells, Theophilus London, and Ninja Sonik and more F.O.M,s (Friends of M.I.A) performed back-to-back sets for the post-rave jilted generation. Though M.I.A.'s set was crippled by rain, sound issues and some stage antics of pretty bad taste (she spit directly onto a poor photog who then used the pictorial evidence as revenge), the rest of the performances went off without a hitch. And even though M.I.A's set was imperfect, she's promised via Twitter that she's gonna give a free show - sans sound problems - next times she's in NYC. Who can complain about that...?

PS If you missed out on the dubstep/hip-hop/dance madness, make your way to HARD's Los Angeles event in August.
