Exclusive Tuesday Tune: Priscilla Renea Acoustic Cover "What Goes Around"

We have been increasingly impressed by the growing genre of young, determined, web-smart musicians, who are surviving this economy's slim pockets and frugal record label budgets, using free technology to get heard, get fans and get signed.
One example we've talked a lot about is Esmee Denters, whose impressive internet fame and Youtube views caught Justin's eye and led to him sign her as one of his first artists to his label Tennman Records.
Today, we feature another up-and-coming, web-witty musician Priscilla Renea - who has a sprite, feisty character that is perfect for pop and probing voice with a crisp, raspy edge that gives her an R&B lean. Like Esmee, Priscilla first garnered attention for her music on Youtube rather than onstage.
Coincidentally, one of the reasons that Priscilla started uploading videos to Youtube was Justin-related: she entered an online competition that Justin Timberlake and Yahoo were promoting, “My Grammy Moment." Though she didn't win, she kept up her DIY digital campaign. "When I didn’t place in that competition, I then took that video and uploaded it to YouTube." (via AndPop.) Her perseverance paid off. Priscilla was signed to Capitol Records and is currently prepping for her debut album, 'Jukebox,' to be released October 20th. Today, her "Dollbouse" video premiered today on Youtube.

Enough said - here is a special acoustic cover of Justin's "What Goes Around," exclusive to Justintimberlake.com. After all, both Esmee and Priscilla's stories are indicative not only of the evolving music industry but also of the power of a good digital melody and ambition.
