Fischerspooner Video & Night at the Museum

Not so long ago, the last place you'd expect hipsters or socialites to be is hanging on the banisters sipping jack-and-coke at a museum. However, these days, it's all the buzz. LA's MOCA recently had red-hot Lady Gaga and Bolshoi Ballerinas perform in front of a slew of A listers. In SF, The California Academy of Sciences hosts a Thursday party (read: date night), in which all the bay area bright young things pack into the museum to dance, drink, and ogle at its space age green roof and the museum's albino alligator.

Meanwhile, NY has been bringing "night at the museum" in strong - with One Step Beyond parties at the American Museum of Natural History. Explains photog-around-town Gabi Porter, "The best reason to go to these One Step Beyond parties at AMNH is to satisfy that inner nerd who wants to frolic after-hours at one of the nation's coolest museums. Dinosaurs after dark? Yes please."

As for this past Friday, Jan 8th 2010: "Fischerspooner DJed a blistering party set that featured much arm waving and dance hysteria. Animal Collective, or at least one dude from Animal Collective (we were all a bit dismayed that that was it), played a space-worthy set under models of Jupiter and Saturn."
