It was patently obvious when Kelis emerged with her first huge hit - the empowering "Caught Out There" - that she was a fierce woman. Definitely not one to be messed with (unless you wanted to get yelled at really, really hard). Well, over ten years later, she's finally gone the whole hog and put on actual warrior gear. YES!
How cute are those wolves? How amazing are those outfits? What genius did her make-up, for crying out loud? Oh, and the song - the awesome channeling of Donna Summer at her best, combined with the melody-fuelled dance-pop of Kylie Minogue at her sauciest. Love it.
"Acapella" is the first single from Kelis' upcoming album Flesh Tone, out here July 6, through Will.i.am Music Group/ Interscope. She's also on the road in the US all month so catch her if you can. We can't help but hope she's managed to squeeze that headdress into her tour luggage...
