Last week (Feb 17th, 2010), Brooklyn's The Knitting Factory honored the famed trailblazer of Afrobeat, political firebrand, composer extraordinaire, musical legend Fela Kuti with a raucous party celebrating the re-release of Fela's catalogue from 1969 to 1974. A total of 9 albums, 6 CDs, the collection called Chop 'N Quench is a must-have for any Fela aficionado, student of jazz or funk, curious historian, or lover of the endless groove.
