The brainchild of childhood buddies and music aficionados Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser, the Brooklyn-based band Holy Ghost! recently transformed from a duo (i.e. Alex and Nick) into a full-fledged, 4-piece band that has spent the summer touring with the likes of LCD Soundsystem and Chromeo (The tour culminates in a raging lovefest disco finale with Hot Chip and Hercules and Love Affair at Central Park Summerstage August 4th. Pretty wicked.) If you've not yet heard of them, here's a couple things to know: A) their name has no relation to the Christian moniker The Holy Ghost B) they craft loose, pop-the-bubbly/watch-the-sunset "Yacht Rock" for 2010 - mixed with a bit disco slide (if you are confused by the Yacht Rock term, check out the last Youtube video below for full disclosure) and C) they probably own more vintage synths than you ever knew existed. Intrigued? Check out the video below of the boys chilling by San Francisco bay, eating some crabs and hanging with pigeons.
