If you're an LCD Soundsystem fan living in New York, this weekend past was one for the ages. Four (count 'em, four) jam-packed shows at Terminal 5 meant droves of fans flocking to dance themselves clean on Manhattan's west side. JT.com picked Friday night (night 2 of 4) and we're still feeling the effects: ears ringing, clothes in the wash, and holes in our shoes. James Murphy and co. kept it live for a good two and a half hours, battering our senses with decibel levels that could wake the dead, and a light show fit for the end of the world.

The best, however, was saved for last. They ended their show with the fan favorite, New York I Love You, which had the crowd singing along and pumping their fists. Then, with the crowd eating out of his hand, they upped the ante -- smoothly transitioning into a gorgeous rendition of the Alicia Keys hook in Empire State of Mind. And if that weren't enough, they launched the crowd into a state of absolute euphoria by dropping hundreds of white balloons on the people who'd managed to elbow their way to the floor. If you closed your eyes, with the music blaring, the crowd around you going crazy, and the balloons popping, you could swear that you were at a fireworks display on the Fourth of July.

Now, it's rumored that their new album This is Happening will be their last. God only knows if Murphy will pull a Brett Favre and reneg on that declaration. But for now, we'll take him at his word and savor this last performance as a moment in itself.
For those who weren't lucky enough to get to a show (or maybe you can't be bothered), we have something for you too. Lay your eyes on their brand new video for their cover of Bye Bye Bayou. It occurs to us now that it may be one of the last times we can say that.
