"It's everything I worked my whole life for," said Lindsey Vonn, after becoming the first American ever to win a gold medal in the women's downhill. 1:44.19. It's a time she'll remember forever, as she beat out fellow American downhiller Julia Mancuso by 0.56 seconds to grab gold.

Lindsey wasn't sure she would even be able to compete after injuring her shin during a practice run earlier this month. But a little numbing cream, and a lot of Olympic adrenaline was enough to get her down the hill faster than anyone else in the world. Congratulations Lindsey! We couldn't be happier for you.
