Attention America! There is a young, charismatic, half-Welsh, half-Greek woman over in the UK right now calling you a mess! And she's getting very successful in the process...
Marina Diamandis (better known as Marina And The Diamonds, even though technically she's a solo artist - the "diamonds" in the name refer to her fans apparently) has just taken the UK's music world by storm with her single "Hollywood"; a scathing critique of image-obsessed, fame seekers.
We have a feeling you won't be too mad about that whole "mess" thing, when you hear how darned catchy it is:
Yeah we know what you are thinking - she really does look like a combination of Shakira and Catherine Zeta Jones, huh?
What's the background on the jam? "Hollywood" is taken from her debut full-length The Family Jewels (out now on 679 Recordings in the UK, it's available here on import). It shot to number two on the iTunes chart and was certified silver in Britain before it had even been officially released, thanks to her distinctive vocals and indie-gone-pop stylings.

Now, all we wanna know is, where can we get a stars and stripes romper in time for the fourth of July?..
