Marina and The Diamonds Stuck in our heads

Maybe it's a sign of summer - something about the blue skies and the desire to be carefree - but this song "I Am Not A Robot" by Marina and the Diamonds - keeps sticking in our heads like an anthem for the weekend. We aren't robots people. Remember that.
The video too - while not brand-new - is worth a watch. Who doesn't like sand baths, superwoman costumes and lots of glitter?
We covered Marina Lambrini Diamandis - the one women whirlwind behind Marina and The Diamonds a while back and have grown even fonder since. What makes her music so refreshing?
First of all - rumor has it she sees musical notes in colors - which is a veritable sensory condition called synesthesia. (Man- what would you do to see what's going through her head in each song, eh?)
Second, the young singer seems to be supremely humble. i.e. Marina's myspace page unabashedly posted says "I am embarrassed about how little I know about my culture, my history and my government. Am I dumb and ignorant or a normal product of my generation?" A bit deep and harsh for a Myspace page, but also refreshingly human for a 24-year-old. She also writes, "I crave a natural, simple life whilst chasing an artificial, dirty dream. Can you be within popular culture without becoming it?" Tut-tut, judging from the song above, she's got nothing to worry about.
