Men of The World, Meet the Mantyhose

Leggings have been on the style scene for seasons now, worn under tunics, dresses and sometimes even used (or mistaken) as pants.

So what happens when this typically feminine garment is donned by a male?

This:

And then, this:

Meet the Mantyhose.

Till now the only men you may have seen prance about in leggings were professional dancers, the entire cast of Robin Hood Men In Tights and the courageous guests of SNL. The fact is many less ballsy of the male population would normally shun such a thing for obvious reasons.

However, in London, a brand Unconditional sells hoisery specific for men via the world-famous department store Selfridges. Truth! Better yet, this isn't even a new trend - they've been selling for years, evidently to a solid, loyal market; simply - it's the first time we've heard about it on this side of the pond.

How are they recommended to be worn you ask?
Mantyhose can be worn two ways- conservatives wear them underneath a pair of trousers, chinos or kilts for extra insulation during cold winter days and to smooth the line of the leg (fancy.) The cheekier fellows (literally) may don them in lieu of pants ala LiLo. That's tight.

Dost thou approve? Is Mantyhose bringing sexy back? Will this trend ever hold up in the US?

“My question to you is that why do you mess with white girls when you yourself aren't completely white?”

“Your voice sounds so sexy in this absolutely fresh song!”

- Sumita

Never Again

“I really like you doing pure pop music like this song, but the problem with it is that it encourages the white culture and wants it to be exclusive to you and Britney, etc. etc. You stayed away from that sin in your second solo album and it is easier for someone like me to look at you as an artist and a friend now. I am just saying that I want pop culture to be inclusive and you have done a lot towards that end.”
