On Sunday night, the Mets lost to the Phillies, which, in itself, is not particularly interesting. But given the way the Mets' season has gone, as the saying goes, "When the fall is all that's left, it matters a great deal."
The Mets fought back from a six-run deficit to get the game within reach in the bottom of the ninth: 9-7. They had two on and the winning run at bat with no outs. Then, the unthinkable.
It marked only the second game-ending unassisted triple play in MLB history. Not to worry, Mets fans, the sun will come ou... oh wait.
