Here's a random yet impressive quest: On July 11th, 2009, a posse of adventurers are partaking in the Mongolian Charity Rally, in which teams are driving through treacherous terrain from London, through Poland, Ukraine, Russia, and the Gobi Desert, to end in Mongolia in order to raise money for various charities. (This is actually an annual phenomenon; who knew? Um, and who's gonna tell Brad and Angelina?)
What team particularly rocks? Mongolian Mixtape Marathon Team (though don't try to say that three times fast.) Essentially, these two young lads are asking ANY aspiring and established DJs to send them ONE track and ONE pound (i.e. ~$2 - but hopefully you'd donate more?), in order for them to create a big mixtape to listen to throughout the 800+ hour journey. All donations will go to Save The Children. So in other words, while crafting a sick track and doing a good deed, you will help out some impoverished youths (while leaving the terrifying driving to the two London lads).
We like the way they think. So donate and mix away if you're DJ savvy. MORE DETAILS HERE. (PS If you are feeling more generous than creative, you can just donate HERE.)
Meanwhile, anyone can keep tabs on the Mongolian Mixtape Marathon on the team's BLOG.
