MUSIC: MC Freddie Gibbs + His Streetwise Rap

We wrote a little bit ago, after hearing through a friend of a friend, about a new name, rising MC, Freddie Gibbs, from Gary, IN (Michael Jackson's hometown)who was birthing raw, splitting rhymes about bitter life of a hustlin' black man....with a pace like Tupac. (As writer Rae Alexandra said before, "unerring in his honesty, angry in the face of social inequity and courageously defiant in his rhyming.")
So we decided to go see the kid live - where we learned he's not afraid to lit up on stage (several times) and lives up to his reputation of rhyming hard, fast, bullet train-like. While he may not making friends with the ladies (he's not shy about gansta rapping about objectifying women....or should we say, hoes..) and rarely makes eye contact with the audience (it'll come with time and comfortability onstage), he's definitely got a flame up in there - a fire in the belly that's worth hearing.
