MUSIC MONDAY: Happy Birthday Mary J Blige

It's not wonder she's called The Queen. Because if there was a Billboard chart ranking over-achieving multi-taskers, Mary J Blige would be at the top of it - looking graceful all the while.
Think about it. If you'd have made nine albums, won nine Grammys and sold in excess of 65 million records, you'd be forgiven for slacking off a bit. Maybe taking a nap occasionally. But not Ms B. She's working hard - consistently - and it shows.
She's out there, right now, contributing to movie soundtracks (most recently 'I Can See In Color' for Precious), designing a line of sunglasses (Melodies for Spy Optic), acting (did you catch her on 30 Rock and Entourage? Awesome) and even establishing organizations like the Foundation For The Advancement Of Women Now and the Mary J Blige Center For Women. No wonder she was asked to sing the National Anthem at the World Series and perform for the President at the Christmas In Washington show last year.
It's no surprise then, that her latest album, Stronger With Each Tear (which was released December 21, through Geffen) is a tour-de-force like the woman herself. And when she sings "To replace me, would be hard" on new single "I Am", you just find yourself shaking your head and nodding that you know.
