Music Monday: The Future Of Hip-Hop: P.O.S. and Dessa

Take note everybody, because right now, a seriously talented rapper is in the country is on the road... And you have to see this this guy.
We caught P.O.S. (real name Stefon Alexander; we'd tell you what P.O.S. stands for but we've been told so many meanings - including Product Of Society, Pissed Off Stef, Promise Of Skill and Promise Of Stress - that we're not sure what to believe anymore) at his sold out show at San Francisco's Bottom Of The Hill this week and it was an informed, inspiring and invigorating performance from start to finish. The kind that gives you chills even in the middle of a packed, sweaty crowd.
It's not just this guy's free-flowing, often enraged, but always charming style that we love; it's his ability to transcend genres seamlessly. Just check out "Drumroll" - this track wouldn't be out of place at a metal show, but is still beloved by hip-hoppers:

And just to make the night even more awe-inspiring, P.O.S. was supported by multi-talented emcee, vocalist, and fellow member of Minneapolis hip-hop collective Doomtree, Dessa - a fierce lady not averse to pushing boundaries herself, as is evidenced in the crazy-classy "Dixon's Girl":
When the two joined forces onstage for their track "Low Light, Low Life", taken from P.O.S.'s third album Never Better (out now on Rhymesayers) it lit up the room.
Dessa's debut full-length A Badly Broken Code was released this month through 101 Distribution.
And if you can find hip-hop more relevant in 2010 than P.O.S. and Dessa, then we'll consider buying you a pony.
