Summertime is the perfect time to catch up on some light reading in between dips in the pool, summer siestas, and vacations. Here are some sizzling summer mags worth the weight, wait, and price-tag.
THE ULTIMATE MONOCLE TRAVEL GUIDE

FOR WANDERLUSTERS: Every year, Monocle churns out a guide to 25 best hotspots world-wide. The difference between Monocle and Fodor's or Travel & Leisure? Monocle's top cities tend to be places you'd never be able predict (i.e. Tangier and Liguria over Paris and NYC), but with which you will instantly fall in love. Better yet? The selections are based on forward-thinking, non-touristy categories (i.e. public transport, cleaniness, energy-efficiency, etc..) Think of it as the cheapest vacation ever...(or the most seductive motivation to take one.)

FOR ARTISTAS: This isn't your usual art magazine. A couple of articles in and you'll be eyeballing everything like a contempo art connoisseur. Forget about those boring catalogue-style books- Whitewall takes you behind the scenes and into the labyrinth that is the art world.

FOR SMART STREET URCHINS: Who would write an article on the 50 Most Underappreciated and Unfairly Forgotten Movie Treasures? Lowdown, a taste-maker mag with a street-smart edge, features some of the most overlooked but wickedly cool stuff in music, film, art, and anything else that fuels our minds. In other words, it's aptly named.
FOR COOL HIPSTERS (WHO CAN POINT BERLIN OUT ON THE MAP): Sure it only comes out twice a year, but the Berlin-based 032c is definitely a magazine to watch. Hot photos, slick feature articles and illustriously styled layouts that'll make you forget it was even a magazine to begin with. 032c's got people from all over the world singing it praises for being at the forefront of fashion, architecture, literature, art, and culture.

FOR SKATER BOYS AND MERMAIDS: Ever heard of a multilingual mag? Well, Huck is published in English, German, and French. Meanwhile, it speaks of all things surf, skate, and snowboarding in a youthful, bold tone. In fact, not just the three S's, but the dream lifestyle that comes with it.....
FOR GOODIE TWO-SHOES: If the publishing world had a Miss Universe pageant, Good would win, hands-down. It's not everyday that you find a magazine that's dedicated to making the world a better place, one issue at a time. For the little tree-hugger and energy-conserver in all of us.
Got other good reads you can't put down? Let us know.
