This past weekend (Friday, July 31- Sunday, August 2) people packed onto Manhattan Beach for a ritual known as the 6-man.
If you do not already know about the 6-man, you are about to get a rude awakening.

The 6-man is a volleyball tournament. However, it's not just any old regular tourament...
First off, the players are required to dress up for the event - in costume. Given most of the players' muscles, this means 6-Man essentially looks like essentially Halloween on steriods.
Second, the games are intense - many of the players are good enough to be Pros or ARE pros.
Third, the event draws hundreds upon hundreds of droolingly hot, tanned Californians into one small 1/5-mile stretch of beach. These specimens tend to be incredibly good-looking, exceedingly flirtatious, more often than not a "bit" tipsy, and dressed in all sorts of small-sized funny costume.
Fourth, while alcoholic beverages are supposed to be "prohibited" from the beach, the policy seems to be translated into a lax "don't ask don't tell" policy.
Fifth, it goes for two days straight.
Translation? The 6-man turns into the biggest, sweatiest, bawdiest beach party on those Pacific shores annually.
So whether you are a pro v-ball player, a wig-wearing spectator, or you simply just like looking at a beach full of half-naked hot and fit people, it is a raging good time.
Here's a peak from this year's 6-man:

A wiseman once said: "Stay Thirsty, my friends" (or at least his shirt did)
His chest says "Free Kisses." We don't know who Kisses is but we feel bad for her.

Now I ain't sayin' she a gold digger
