The Beatles' Song Lyrics Worth $1.2 million

How much would you pay to see, touch, feel the original paper in which Lennon hastily scrawled lyrics - a candid memento of the Beatles' creative dexerity? Well, last Friday (6/18/10), Sotheby's proved the worth of such relics. John Lennon's original "Day in the Life" signed lyrics, scrawled on a yellowed paper, set a record of $1.2 Million in New York. Off of the Beatles' 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, "Day In The Life" is debated to be about the death of Tara Browne (Guiness heir and friend of the bands who crashed his sports car in 1966.)
