Men, women and children everywhere are waiting with bated breath for the debut of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland.
But since it doesn't come out til 2010, we've got a quick supplement: Take a dive into the fascinating world of Russian photographer Elena Kalis.

Don't be fooled. She might have been born in Moscow, but Kalis has spent the last ten years of her life far from the Northern cold in the Bahamas, an island where she developed and perfected a specialty in underwater photography.
She gave birth to this magical, colorful underwater version of the timeless tale of Alice in Wonderland...

Taking the original story one step further (or two) with her ingenious work!

The model is the artist's own daughter, Sacha. She was 10 years-old at the moment of the shoot, just like Alice.

According to an interview in Yatzer, Kalis is working for fun: no gallery, no deadline. Only experimentation and play!

Perhaps that’s why she uses so many balloons and toys in the water...

High Five to pretty much the coolest mom ever!

We strongly believe that this is what living ten years on a small island in the middle of the Bahamas will do to you.

Or at least, we hope so!
