A lot of people, when faced with a hideous breakup and the inevitable heartache that comes with one, retreat into a black hole for a couple of weeks, weep quietly in their rooms and wait for the pain to pass.
London's VV Brown, however, is not most people. No, VV took all of that anguish and misery and turned it into "Crying Blood" - one of the catchiest, most upbeat anthems about loss we've ever heard.

The ultra-stylish VV has been building a buzz in her homeland for some time now, but the US invasion has just begun in earnest - not only is her song "Shark In The Water" iTunes' free Single Of The Week this week, but she also just made a splash DJing EMI's Grammy's afterparty and has announced some East Coast dates for later this month.
Her genre-defying album, Travelling Like The Light is still only available here on import, but with its heady blend of old-school soul, dancehall and pop, it's well worth seeking out early. That way, you'll have something to listen to while you spend hours trying to get your hair into her amazing trademark gravity-defying pompadour (...we still can't figure out how that thing works...)
