"Looking for romance, discovering culture, living adventure, relaxing? Indulge yourself in Portugal."
Okay, okay, so we lifted that from Portugal (the country)'s offical tourist website, but it could easily apply to Portugal. The Man too (weird name, we know.)

These Portland, Oregon-based, Wasilla, Alaska natives take The Beatles as a starting point, inject elements of soul, psychedelia and indie-rock, enhance with social commentary and wind up with a dreamy but exhilerating combination, as evidenced on latest single "Do You", which you can hear (and see) here:
We can't help but wonder if that entire video was inspired by the highly stressed sperm characters from Woody Allen's 1972 classic "Everything You've Ever Wanted To Know About Sex *But Were Afraid To Ask."...but we too are too afraid to ask.
It also reminds us of this scene from bizarro British cult comedy (currently showing Sunday nights on Adult Swim in the US), "The Mighty Boosh":
Whatever the inspiration, we're loving Portugal. The Man's uniquely gentle but challenging fifth full-length "The Satanic Satanist" (out now through the traditionally hardcore Equal Vision Records). Feel free to don a white jumpsuit and catch them on their extensive US tour, happening right now.

“Been a long time supporter of Portugal the Man. The Satanic Satanists is my album of the year. We run a vinyl online store called vinylcollective.com and carry most of the Portugal the Man catalog. We are pressing "It's Complicated Being a Wizard" which is another great record. I also recommend you check out Look Mexico and Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground”
