How many ladies reading this would be willing to don a teeny, weeny flesh-colored bikini and bounce around, all legs akimbo like a crazy woman, on camera? Not an exorbitant amount, we're betting.
Unless The Flaming Lips' frontman Wayne Coyne asks you to, that is.
In the Flaming Lips' infamous live shows, Wayne has always been adept at getting otherwise sane people to don and do crazy things. Maybe it's because of that giant balloon he's so fond of running around in. Or because their live show energy is the sonic and visual equivalent of a zealous Broadway show if psychedelics and 'shrooms were involved. All we know is that in a time when many live rock shows lack chutzpah these days, a Flaming Lips show is monumentally uplifting, entertaining and comfortably crazy.
Don't believe us? The legions of adults lining up to dance around on stage with him in animal costumes could attest to that, and now the nimble young lady featured in new Flaming Lips video "I Can Be A Frog" can too.
Observe the cute hilarity in all its glory, here:
PS You may recognize the voice providing all the howlng, growling, mewing and roaring on the song - that'd be one of our favorite eccentrics, Yeah Yeah Yeahs vocalist Karen O, whose multiple contributions to the Lips' latest and twelfth album were all recorded via telephone from a distant hotel room.
We'll have photographic proof of the Lips' live show when the band performs on the 18th at this year's idyllic Treasure Island Festival in San Francisco (It's a festival on an tree-covered island right outside of SF, folks. Picture sweet music & sea-side vistas of the city views.) Plus, we've got an in-house interview with Wayne coming up as well. It's gonna be grand.
